Proud to be rooted in this place
Stories of community
We support our communities by strengthening local economies, providing good jobs that enable our people to remain in their hometowns, and through our sponsorships, scholarships and donations.
That support reaches further still — from sponsoring events that bring people together, to protecting natural heritage, to celebrating the traditions that define our communities and supporting the organizations that help those most in need.
Scholarships with built in jobs
Stay close to home. Build a real career. Twenty students have already done it through scholarships that cover half the tuition, offer paid work terms, and guarantee full-time jobs after graduation. See how Northern New Brunswick and Maine students are launching careers in trades and engineering — without leaving.
Making Heritage Visible
A museum hidden in plain sight. Four parcels of land donated. Sightlines restored. Since opening in 1983, the Atlantic Salmon Museum has told the story of the Miramichi's heritage. Now more visitors can find it — and learn why this river, this fish, and this history matter.
Creating good jobs at home
One in every 17 jobs. Nearly $2 billion in local paycheques. Close to $1 billion in tax revenues supporting schools, hospitals, and roads. A recent economic study shows how forestry shapes New Brunswick's economy — and the communities that depend on it. See what the numbers mean for people and places.
THRIVING RURAL COMMUNITIES
Rural communities need more than jobs to survive. Through partnerships with government, housing authorities, and local leaders, we're helping Chipman grow. Forty new homes mean families putting down roots and schools filling up. When people can stay, communities thrive. See how collaboration keeps rural New Brunswick strong and going.
PROTECTING SHOREBIRDS ALONG THE WAY
Tiny travelers with a 4,000-kilometre journey. Volunteers standing watch. A stretch of beach where rest means survival. Since 2019, we've worked with local groups to protect migrating shorebirds at Saints Rest Beach. See how partnership and care help species that depend on this place.
TAKE MY PICTURE
A landmark restored
The old St. George Mill has stood at First Falls since 1904 — one of New Brunswick’s most photographed landmarks. When age and weather began to take their toll, J.D. Irving, Limited stepped in with structural work and a fresh coat of brilliant red paint, preserving what matters to the community for generations to come.
